Hello, Fig Tree subscribers! We have now entered the second month of 2024 and are hopefully just a few weeks away from our first issue. We have already received some outstanding contributions, and our first Featured Poet has submitted his three poems, all new, that I’m sure you will enjoy.
We are looking to not only fill our first issue, but to potentially get a head start on our forthcoming issues. So, if you are thinking of submitting and have poems ready to go, don’t delay. I will respond quickly so they won’t be tied up for long.
Even if you don’t intend to submit yet, please share the Fig Tree link with your poetic friends.
On a final note, I attended the launch of Sarah Wimbush’s new collection Strike, last Sunday at the National Coal Mining Museum for England. It was a superb launch and the book is a wonderful mix of poetry and photos from the 1984-1985 Miners’ Strike. I’ll be reviewing it soon on my associated site Tim Fellows Poetry. Please consider subscribing to that site too. I publish weekly reviews and other blogs of interest on topics in poetry and writing.
